The Minnesota Wild skates for eight-straight wins, tonight against the Dallas Stars.
Thanks to a scheduling quirk, the Stars last game was on Monday against the Wild. Of course, the Wild came back to Minnesota for a Wednesday game and then flew back to Dallas yesterday. Goaltender Niklas Backstrom, who has started 16 of the team’s previous 17 games, will have the night off and didn’t travel with the team.
Minnesota will start goaltender Matt Hackett tonight. The netminder was recalled yesterday and has yet to make an appearance in goal for the Wild this season. Last year, Hackett skated in 12 games going 3-6-0 with a 2.37 goals against average and .922 save percentage.
It looks like the Wild will go with the same defensive pairings as its last outing and with only 12 forwards on the roster, the same forward lines.
Tonight’s game will be broadcast locally on FOX Sports North Plus at 7:30 p.m. State of Hockey Time. A channel guide can be found, here.
