Very Optional Skate In Anaheim

On the heels of a 4-3 over the Phoenix Coyotes, the Minnesota Wild held a very, very optional skate this morning in Anaheim with all but four players taking the option. Zenon Konopka, Justin Falk, Nate Prosser and Darcy Kuemper were all on the ice this morning before the Wild skates against the Ducks tonight.

Wild Head Coach Mike Yeo will address the media at about 5:45 PST (7:45 State of Hockey time), so we don’t know who will be in the lineup until then.

Prosser and Konopka have been healthy scratches in the last two games. If Kuemper is in net, it will be his third NHL start. Niklas Backstrom has started the last four games and made 25 saves in last night’s win in Phoenix, so we’ll see if Yeo goes back to Backstrom or starts the rookie.

Other than that not much to report as the Wild skates for its third-straight win tonight which would stop the Ducks’ home-win streak at seven games.  Check back with the Lighthouse at about 8 p.m. SOHT and we’ll have the full lineup for tonight’s game.
