Youngsters will have a chance to try the greatest game all over the State of Hockey…for free.
Saturday, Nov. 3 is Try Hockey for Free Day across Minnesota. More than 40 associations across the State of Hockey will be hosting local events for youngsters ages 4-9 to try the sport for free. Register for Try Hockey for Free online or find a rink hosting an event at tryhockeyforfree.com.
Minnesota Wild assistant coaches Rick Wilson and Darryl Sydor are scheduled to attend the City of Lakes Youth Hockey and the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board event from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3 at Victory Memorial Ice Arena, located at 1900 42nd Ave. N in Minneapolis. The event will go from 12:15 to 2:30 p.m.
Potential hockey players can learn about their options for hockey in Minneapolis. Representatives from both the City of Lakes Youth Hockey and the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board will be at the event and available to discuss their programs. Players also can register for the 2012-13 hockey seasons in both associations.
Some equipment will be provided, but youngsters are encouraged to bring their own gear if they can.
This event is organized on a national platform in a joint effort by USA Hockey, the NHL and its member clubs.
