After consecutive shootout wins on back-to-back nights, the Wild had the day off in Nashville and face the Predators tomorrow at Bridgestone Arena. It will be Minnesota’s final road game of the season.
Warren Peters is flying to Nashville and will join the team later today. Peters suffered an upper body injury after crashing into the boards against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday. He didn’t finish the game or travel with the team to Chicago. His status for the contest with the Predators is still unknown and will likely be determined tomorrow after the team’s morning skate.
In his absence, the Wild recalled emergency forward Cody Almond from the Houston Aeros. Almond played well against the Blackhawks totaling 7:37 of ice, boasting an even plus/minus rating and fought Andrew Shaw. If Peters is available, Almond will be reassigned to Houston.
Steven Kampfer will miss the rest of the Wild’s season with a lower body injury, but is still considered week-to-week because he can join the Aeros for the playoffs. The Wild can send Kampfer, along with defensemen Marco Scandella and Nate Prosser to Houston for the Calder Cup Playoffs after its season ends.
The Aeros are in seventh place in the AHL’s Western Conference, with the top eight teams from each conference making the playoffs.
