The Minnesota Wild wrapped up their morning skate at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia today, but before they did, the players took part in a group photo at center ice with all of the fathers and brothers that are taking part in this road trip to Philly and Toronto.
Last night, that entire group got together for dinner, and they had a special treat as Justin and Larry Falk had the duties of filling up everybody’s water glasses. Here’s a look at the video footage of that. If you saw the Lighthouse yesterday, that duty fell on the Falk’s due to Justin being the only player not to score in the end-of-practice shootout.
As for tonight, Josh Harding will make his fourth straight start after turning in a masterful 47-save performance in St. Louis. Niklas Backstrom, who is recovered from his illness, will be the backup.
The lines that Mike Yeo used in practice yesterday will be the same tonight. Matt Cullen will center Dany Heatley and Nick Johnson. Kyle Brodziak will be between Devin Setoguchi and Darroll Powe. Warren Peters moves up to center Cal Clutterbuck and David McIntyre. And Carson McMillan will make his season debut between Casey Wellman and Brad Staubitz.
The blueline corps will be the same as it was on Saturday, so Greg Zanon will be the lone healthy scratch.
Tonight will mark the first time the Wild will face rookie Matt Read, who is tied for goal-scoring lead among NHL rookies with 13. Of course, Read was a star at Bemidji State, and skated with the Wild at the 2010 Development Camp.
