Harding In Against Preds; Hockey Day Preview Tonight

The Minnesota Wild will look to snap a seven-game winless streak tonight in a road tilt with the Nashville Predators. They’ll have to do it without their 51-year-old Predator-killer Paul Deutsch, who led the Wild to a victory over Nashville back on November 23. The Wild will go with Josh Harding in goal with Niklas Backstrom in line to get the start tomorrow night at home against Edmonton.

There will be some gametime decisions with the lineup tonight, but it looks as thought both of yesterday’s callups – Jon DiSalvatore and Nate Prosser – will get into the lineup. Greg Zanon is also expected to play, but there will have to be one defenseman and one forward scratched. Both will be gametime decisions.

If you’d like to see some hockey in person tonight, you can’t beat the matchup in the Schwan Cup championship at 8:00 p.m. tonight. Undefeated and top-ranked Duluth East will be taking on Minnetonka in a preview of the Hockey Day Minnesota matchup that will be played outdoors on January 21.

And speaking of outdoors, the Wild will be taking part in another Outdoor Practice presented by Dairy Queen on January 22, the day after Hockey Day. Once again, The John Rose Oval in Roseville will be the location. You can get more information here.

  2. I believe that was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. And most people wouldn’t depend on a blog for hard news facts….
