Powe In; Clutterbuck Out For Tonight

The Minnesota Wild has wrapped up its morning skate today, and there was some good and bad news on the charley horse front. The good news is that Darroll Powe participated in the on-ice workout and he’ll be in the lineup tonight. The bad news is that Cal Clutterbuck did not skate and is not expected to be in the lineup tonight.

Clutterbuck had been skating on the top line with Dany Heatley and Mikko Koivu, but Devin Setoguchi will return to that spot. Casey Wellman will get his chance for top line minutes tonight when he’s on the wing with Matt Cullen and Pierre-Marc Bouchard.

Even though Powe is ready, it’s possible that recently recalled Cody Almond gets into the lineup. Head Coach Mike Yeo did not shed any light as to who will come out of the lineup as the healthy scratch.

Niklas Backstrom will get the start in goal tonight as the Wild plays its last home game for almost two weeks. All of the following five games and eight of the next 10 will take place away from Xcel Energy Center.

The Wells Fargo Toys For Tots Toy Drive kicks off tonight. All fans who bring a new, unwrapped toy to any of Gates 1 through 5 will receive a buy one get one ticket voucher.
