The Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues will battle it out tonight in a matchup of two of the hottest teams in the NHL. The Blues haven’t lost in regulation since Ken Hitchcock was hired as the head coach, going 4-0-1 since then. The Wild has won four of six and sits in the second spot in the Western Conference.
These two teams squared off two weeks ago with the Wild coming away with a 2-1 win. It was one of the hardest fought games the Wild has played this season, as evidenced by 11 players being in the penalty boxes at one time in the third period. You know when Scott Nichol is picking a fight with Darroll Powe, things are testy.
The Blues were obviously frustrated that night, but they have to be playing with plenty of confidence tonight.
The Wild didn’t call anybody up today, meaning that everyone that was in the lineup on Thursday will be in there tonight. Josh Harding will get the start after posting 30 saves on 31 shots against the Blues in the last meeting.
You’ve got a few hours before gametime, so do your duty as a good citizen and pick up some non-perishables to the game tonight for the Minnesota Wild Toyota Food Drive. You have my word that none of the freeloading media members will have any access to the food you bring. It is only for the folks in need, and trust me, the media folks have all the food they need, and then some.
