Wellman Recalled From Houston

Casey Wellman was recalled by the Wild today and has joined the team in Columbus in time for tonight’s game.

The 24-year-old Wellman leads the Houston Aeros and ranks tied for second in the AHL with 10 goals, including a league leading seven power play tallies. He’s also added five assists to rank second on the club in scoring.

This is the first call-up of the season for Wellman who has played with the Wild for parts of each of the last two seasons. In 27 career NHL games, he’s posted two goals and three assists.

  1. Wellman is a joke. he cant hold on to the puck if his life depended on it. his goals are all set up from other players. when the game gets physical he disappears. and most of his goals are on the power play because no one is pressuring him and he can just sit there and get set up.

  2. If the only thing Wellman brings to the team is an ability to score on the PP, he will be a welcomed addition. Most goals are set up by other players, by the way……..genius.

  3. Heatley can’t hold on to the puck either. Let’s give a kid without an ego a try.
