With the Minnesota Wild kicking off a five-game road trip in Calgary on Tuesday, it makes sense to have an extra forward. The Wild, which has gone with 12 forwards since Matt Kassian was assigned to Houston, is expected to recall center Warren Peters from the Aeros in time for the matchup with the Flames.
Another reason for the call was the fact that Cal Clutterbuck did not practice on Monday at Xcel Energy Center. Clutterbuck is on the trip, but his status for the Calgary game is unknown as of Monday night.
This would be the first callup of the season for Peters, who appeared in 11 games with the Wild last season and scored one goal. Through 13 games this year with the first place Aeros, Peters has put up four goals and four assists. He also leads the club with 36 penalty minutes.
