Training Camp Roster Reduced

With only three preseason games remaining, the Wild are shaping its lineup to closer resemble the roster that will skate Opening Night on Oct. 8.

General Manager Chuck Fletcher announced the Wild’s roster has been reduced to 28 players.

The team has reassigned forwards Kris Foucault, David McIntyre, Carson McMillan, Jarod Palmer and Chad Rau, defensemen Tyler Cuma and Chay Genoway and goalies Matt Hackett and Darcy Kuemper to the Houston Aeros, the Wild’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.

Minnesota placed forwards Jon DiSalvatore, Warren Peters, Jed Ortmeyer and Jeff Taffe, defenseman Jeff Penner and goalie Dennis Endras on waivers for the purpose of reassigning them to Houston. If another NHL squad does not pick up any of the players on waivers by Tuesday, they’ll clear the waiver wire and join the Aeros.

Defensemen Jordan Hendry and Kris Fredheim have also been released from their try-out agreements with the Wild.

  1. Should’ve kept Hackett instead of Harding…

  2. Harding is trade bait Mary…

  3. What is the final number for the roster?

  4. What does it mean for the players that are released from their tryout agreement?

  5. They should keep Hackett and Harding and get rid of Backstrom
