Wild Players Confirmed For World Championship

Although official rosters have yet to be posted for the IIHF World Championships which begin on Friday in Slovakia, the Wild is expected to have seven representatives including: Brent Burns and Cal Clutterbuck for Canada, Martin Havlat and Marek Zidlicky for the Czech Republic, Mikko Koivu and Mikael Granlund for Finland and Dennis Endras is expected to play for Germany.

The United States will play its first game on Saturday against Austria. Norway and Sweden will also be in the Group B pool.

You may have noticed that Wild.com launched its 2011 Draft Central page today. Keep coming back to that page over the next two months as there will be plenty of features, news and video to get you primed for the Draft. And if you’re interested in being there, you can get ticket information here.

And finally, the Houston Aeros now know their second round opponent in the Calder Cup playoffs: top-seeded Milwaukee. Games 1 and 2 will be in Milwaukee on Friday and Sunday with the series shifting to Houston for Games 3, 4 and 5 to be played next Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The series will come back to Wisconsin for Games 6 and 7 if necessary.
