Wild Expected To Recall Wellman

The Wild is expected to recall Casey Wellman today in advance of the team’s game against the New York Rangers tonight. Wellman, who has battled injuries in Houston, appears to be rebounding well. In the last four games he’s tallied three goals and three assists and has raised his point total to 23 (11-12=23) in 30 games.

He has played 12 games with the Wild this season and has notched one assist.

At this point, it is not known if Wellman’s recall is to replace an injured player, or just provide an offensive boost. Cal Clutterbuck was shaken up after a hit to the head by New York’s Trevor Gillies last night, but he returned to the ice.

The Wild is holding an optional skate today at Madison Square Garden, so there might not be anymore information until puck drop.
