First, and most important, Chuck Kobasew, who has been rehabbing a lower body injury, has left the team’s headquarters to be with his family in Vancouver. Kobasew’s mother has been ill for some time, so he has temporarily left the team to be with her. Please keep the Kobasew family in your thoughts and prayers.
The other news is that Clayton Stoner suffered an upper body injury in yesterday’s win over Nashville. Stoner did not travel with the team for this two-game trip. With yesterday’s reassignment of Matt Kassian, the Wild has just enough players to field four lines, six defensemen and two goalies. Justin Falk will take Stoner’s place in the lineup, and Robbie Earl appears to have a fourth line wing position locked up for the time being.
I will be out of commission during tonight’s game against Colorado, but Digital Media Coordinator Carly Peters will be tapping the keys and providing you with a live in-game commentary so entertaining that you’ll want to print it off and frame it.
Following tonight’s game, the Wild will spend another night in Denver before traveling to Calgary tomorrow. After Monday’s game against the Flames, they’ll spend an extra night in Alberta, practice on Tuesday and then return home.
Have a great Saturday, and enjoy another Wild win!
