We said Bouchard was going to talk with a Denver-based neurologist yesterday in hopes of getting the go ahead to start playing in games. We lied…kind of. Bouchard played phone tag with Dr. James Kelly yesterday, but the hope is that the conversation will take place today.
Other than that, there wasn’t a ton of news from practice today. Matt Kassian will become the first Wild player this season to make his NHL debut tomorrow night. Todd Richards said he spoke with Houston Head Coach Mike Yeo, and Kassian has been excellent and creating a lot of scoring opportunities.
As for other injured players – Marek Zidlicky, Antti Miettinen and Guillaume Latendresse – there wasn’t much to talk about. Richards said Latendresse’s injury might be slightly more serious than initially thought. How serious? Richards thought it’s not a matter of weeks instead of days.
That’s it for now. Make sure you catch Matt Cullen on NHL live at 12:30 today, right here on Wild.com.
