With a healthy roster, the Wild will go with the same lineup that took down the Oilers on Thursday. Clayton Stoner will once again be the healthy scratch for tonight’s game.
Saturday night games at Xcel Energy Center are generally the most fun games to attend, and there is plenty in store for tonight’s crowd. All fans entering the building will receive a Wild magnet schedule courtesy of Fox Sports North. Lou Nanne will be in the Hockey Lodge signing his newest book, “A Passion To Win.” You should be aware that the Wild is 8-2-3 when Nanne hosts a book signing during a game. And, the Wild will unveil its Year 10 team tonight. I have a feeling there will be at least a couple of the current team members on that squad.
There are still good seats available, so make your Saturday night a special one. It might be the only chance to witness a Minnesota sports team beat a team from Columbus, Ohio this fall.
Finally, Houston improved to 2-0-0 last night thanks, to an overtime game-winner by Casey Wellman in his first-ever AHL contest. Nate Prosser assisted on the goal. Houston head coach Mike Yeo might never lose a game. He steered the Wild prospects to a 4-0-0 record in the Traverse City Prospects tournament, and now he’s two-for-two in Houston. That’s nothing to sneeze at.
That’s it for now. We’ll see you at the game tonight!
