Wellman Sent To Houston

Forward Casey Wellman joined Drew Bagnall, Matt Kassian and Anton Khudobin on a plane today with all four being reassigned to Houston. Bagnall, Kassian and Khudobin all knew they would join the Aeros upon their return from Finland, but Wellman appeared to have made the big squad, and played his first game on Friday.

Wellman was on the fourth line yesterday, and didn’t see power play or penalty killing time. The Wild wants him to get as many minutes as possible, and he can do that in Houston.

None of the four players will be in the Aeros lineup tonight in Oklahoma City.

Currently, there is only one extra skater on the team, but not if you include Marek Zidlicky who has yet to play this season with a groin injury. There is still no update on his status, but the Wild won’t play again until Thursday anyway. If he can’t go, it’s likely that one player will come up from Houston.

The Wild also sent Dennis Endras back to his German team. He took a flight out of Helsinki this morning.

Most of the team is off until Monday, but new goaltender Jose Theodore is expected to hit the ice to take some shots from some of his new teammates tomorrow morning.

One response to “Wellman Sent To Houston

  1. Big mistake sending Wellman down. He was the only player you could cunt om to hustle every shift. He has the burst of energy that made things happen on practicaly every shift. The Wild just got slower and less exciting.
