Koivu, Harding Not Traveling

After today’s Wild practice at Saint Thomas Ice Arena, we weren’t sure if Captain Mikko Koivu and goaltender Josh Harding would be traveling with the team as Minnesota embarked on a tough road trip, with games on back-to-back nights against the Florida Panthers and Dallas Stars. Well, with the team en route to sunny Florida, we’ve learned that both Koivu and goaltender Harding are not traveling with the Wild.

This means that goaltender Matt Hackett will likely backup Niklas Backstrom tomorrow night as Minnesota takes on the Florida Panthers.

As expected, none of the players who are currently on injured reserve are making the trek: Clayton Stoner, Mike Lundin, Pierre-Marc Bouchard, Carson McMillan, Guillaume Latendresse and Jarod Palmer.

  1. Matt h is way better than backstrom and Harding. He’s going to be starter next year.
