It will be officially announced today that the Minnesota Wild has signed defenseman Nate Prosser to a two-year, one-way contract extension. The Elk River native is in his third year with the Wild organization, having signed as a college free agent after completing his senior season with Colorado College in 2009.
Prosser has emerged this season as one of the Wild’s most reliable defensemen, despite being shuttled back and forth between Minnesota and Houston. He’s appeared in 21 games for Minnesota this season and notched six assists while averaging 20:17 of ice time per game. The Wild is 14-7-2 with him in the lineup.
Wild.com will have more on the signing later today, including reaction from Prosser and Head Coach Mike Yeo.
