The Wild has decided to assign Brett Bulmer to his junior team, the Kelowna Rockets, prior to him reaching 10 games in the NHL. A player under contract and still eligible to return to his Canadian Junior team can be reassigned without his NHL service counting against his contract.
Bulmer is under contract for three years, so he will have three years remaining on the deal beginning next year.
Bulmer skated in the first nine Wild games this season before being scratched from the lineup on Saturday. He registered three assists, was a +1 and totaled six penatly minutes. He also got under the skin of plenty of opponents and was able to draw retaliatory penalties in many cases.
The Rockets are 5-9-1 thus far this season and are in fourth place in the Western Hockey League’s B.C. Division.
