The Minnesota Wild has come to an agreement with the Dallas Stars on a trade that will send forward Eric Nystrom to Dallas in exchange for future considerations. Nystrom was placed on re-entry waivers yesterday, but cleared at 11:00 a.m. today.
Had he remained with the Wild, a roster move would have had to have been made to create a spot for him.
Nystrom, 28 (2/14/83), posted 12 points (4-8=12) while skating in all 82 games for the Wild last season. The 6-foot-1, 204-pound native of Syosset, New York has collected 51 points (23-28=51) and 221 penalty minutes (PIM) in 286 games during five NHL seasons with Calgary and Minnesota.

Chuck stinks fir how he treated him. Good for Eric
What did Chuck do? Nystrom didn’t perform so he was sent down, just like any other player. The Wild are trying to give have a chance somewhere else. If he would have stayed with the Wild he would have spent the year in Houston.
No, The WILD have made some off the wall trades lately. The Biggest Dumbiest move so far and I still don’t understand what they were thinking when nthey did this: Traded (Goalie) Anton Khudobin to Boston for 2 (AHL) Defensemen. He played 4 NHL Games for MN last year, racking up (2) Shutouts in (4) Games????? HELLO, Fletcher is your brain turned on????
You’ll be sorry when he’s the next MVP. Trade Backstrom, I mean “Suckstrom.
I agree with the Khudobin trade, it was bad. The Nystrom trade makes sense though.
Nystrom rides off the coattails of his name sake, Nystrom, can’t play hockey worth a darn.
Nystrom rides the coattails of his name sake, not impressed with
his play, got the name and that’s it.
I want Dimples back…
